There are classrooms being built right now in Sierra Leone.
The walls are going up. The roof is being raised. And inside, soon, children will sit down to learn for the very first time in a building that was made just for them.
Education in Sierra Leone remains one of the greatest challenges facing the country. Many children - especially in rural communities - have no access to quality schools. Without education, the cycle of poverty continues. Without education, young people have nowhere to go.
Freedom Tree believes that education is freedom.
That is why, alongside building birth clinics, we are building schools. Because a community that can give birth safely and educate its children is a community that can change its own future.
