Bridging Traditions, Birthing Change

Empowering BIPOC and Indigenous mothers through story, care, and support

Maternal Health In Canada

At Freedom Tree, we support Black, Indigenous, and racialized women through culturally grounded maternal care. By training community-based doulas and offering holistic supports, we ensure women are empowered, seen, and cared for throughout pregnancy and postpartum. Our work blends ancestral wisdom with modern care to help mothers thrive and reclaim birth as a powerful, supported experience.

Sacred Beginnings

Sacred Beginnings is Freedom Tree’s maternal health initiative dedicated to supporting Black, Indigenous, and other racialized women through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. We combine culturally sensitive support, trauma-informed education, and holistic care to reduce disparities in maternal outcomes. ROOTED offers doula mentorship, birth planning, nutrition and wellness guidance, and mental health support—all grounded in the traditions and voices of the communities we serve. Whether it's connecting a young mom on the prairies with a trusted birth companion, or sharing ancestral birthing wisdom from Sierra Leone to Alberta, ROOTED ensures every mother feels seen, heard, and supported
